Step 1: Update Google Repository
You need to update the current google repository by using the command.
To add key.
$ sudo wget -q -O - https://dl-ssl.google.com/linux/linux_signing_key.pub | sudo apt-key add -
To add repo.
$ sudo sh -c 'echo "deb http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb/ stable main" >> /etc/apt/sources.list.d/google-chrome.list'
Step 2: Update System
Once google chrome repository has been updated so then you need to update the Ubuntu current repository by following the commands.
$ sudo apt-get update
Step 3: Upgrade the Google Chrome
Now you need to use the following command to upgrade the Google Chrome.
sudo apt-get --only-upgrade install google-chrome-stable
Note: If you wish to fresh installation of Google Chrome use the following command.
sudo apt-get install google-chrome-stable -y
