Step 1: Update and Upgrade the System

 

Before installation of the packages, You need to update and upgrade the current ubuntu packages by using the given command.

 

$ sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get -y upgrade 

 

 

Step 2: Install Tasksel utility

Now you need to install the Tasksel utility desktop environment by execution of this command.

$ sudo apt install -y tasksel 

After this you need to execute the given command.

$ tasksel 

While execution of the command you need to select the Ubuntu Desktop and press ok button.

When every one of the packages are installed, You should set your to system to the graphical target mode. Execute the given command for the same:

$ sudo systemctl set-default graphical.target 


 

Step 3: Installing TigerVNC Server

You need to execute the following command to install the tigervnc-standalone-server in your ubuntu machine.

$ sudo apt install -y tigervnc-standalone-server
